YWCA Palestine Signs MoU’s with Three Associations in Tulkarm Governorate

Tulkarm, Wednesday 18-1-2023 – The YWCA of Palestine
signed memorandums of understanding with three associations in Tulkarem
Governorate, as part of the “Basmah” project, which is implemented by the YWCA
with funding from the African Women’s Development Fund, and aims to empower
women and young women through safe spaces and leadership
opportunities.
The memorandums were signed under the umbrella of
Tulkarem Governorate, with each of: Allar Women’s Association, Nur Shams
Women’s Club, and the Mother and Child Association, in the Governorate House,
in the presence of Governor Issam Abu Bakr, the General Secretary of YWCA
Palestine Amal Tarazi, and representatives of the YWCA, the governorate, and
partner associations.
The "Basmah" project, which extends over a
period of 3 years (2021-2024), targets women and young women between the ages
of 22-40 years from 12 rural areas in the Governorates of: Tubas and the
northern Jordan Valley, Tulkarem, Ramallah and Al-Bireh, and Hebron, who are
looking for opportunities and leadership roles related to decision making.
