YWCA Palestine and Al-Awda Center Open a Safe Space in Tulkarm

Al-Awda Childhood and Youth Rehabilitation Center in Tulkarm celebrated the opening of a safe space for student and youth activities within the "Youth Forums" project implemented by the YWCA of Palestine in partnership with the Youth Partnership Forum.
The opening ceremony was attended by the General Secretary of YWCA Palestine, Amal Tarazi, and representatives of partner and local community organizations.
The safe space is aimed at encouraging young women and men to lead community initiatives, put forward their ideas, and unleash their potential, especially in light of the difficult conditions they live in. It is also intended to promote creativity, volunteerism, raise awareness of social issues, help young people acquire new skills, and provide opportunities for capacity-building.
"Youth Forums" is a project implemented in the governorates of Tulkarm, Jenin, Bethlehem, Jericho and the Jordan Valley in cooperation with Y Global Norway and in partnership with community-based organizations and Palestinian universities. The project aims to provide safe spaces for youth to express themselves and to promote their roles as agents of change in their communities through capacity-building. It also strives to increase the participation of young people in decision-making by giving them the opportunity to take part in local, national and international forums. The project targets youth aged 16 – 30.
