YWCA Palestine Supports the Rehabilitation of a Public Playground in Kubar within “Wujood” Project

The YWCA of Palestine celebrated the rehabilitation of a public playground in the village of Kubar northwest of Ramallah, on Saturday February 5. The rehabilitation has been done through a community initiative the association has supported through “Wujood” project. The project aims to empower women and young women to be agents of change in their communities and promote their role in the society, in accordance with UNSCR 2250 on Youth, Peace, and Security. "Wujood" comes under the work of YWCA Palestine around youth, peace, and security.
The community initiative in Kubar is one of four initiatives that have been implemented through “Wujood” project in different villages, which aimed to promote youth civic engagement in their communities, create safe spaces for women and children in specific and the people of the villages in general, and protect Palestinian lands. A memorandum of understanding was signed between the YWCA and Kubar Association for Development to ensure the sustainability and continued development of the garden.
