YWCA Palestine Awards Grants to Young Women Entrepreneurs from Hebron Governorate

The YWCA of Palestine awarded grants to young women entrepreneurs from Hebron Governorate through “Manarat” project to support their income generating projects in a meeting held at Beit Ummar Municipality, North Hebron, during which the projects submitted by the project participants were evaluated. 

The meeting was attended by representatives of both the YWCA of Palestine, including the General Secretary Amal Tarazi and the Economic Empowerment Program Manager Wael Obeidi, and the Municipality, including the Municipal Director, as well as the young women who represent the groups participating in “Manarat”  from its target localities.  

Tarazi affirmed that the YWCA will continue to support the awarded young women entrepreneurs even after the project is completed, stressing the importance of women’s economic empowerment, and supporting their self-employment projects. She also thanked the different project groups and staff members for their hard work and dedication, as well as the Municipality for hosting the meeting, and continued support of the project activities.  

The Municipal Director, in turn, expressed gratitude to the YWCA for its efforts, affirming the continued support of the Municipality of all its activies in Beit Ummar and the surrounding villages.  

Obeidi clarified that the project staff worked extensively with the participating groups from the eight localities during the past year and a half to help them develop their personal, entrepreneurial, and business management skills. He added that 160 young women and over 40 representatives of the women’s organizations in the target communities took part in “Manarat” different project activities leading to the evaluation of the entrepreneurial projects, five of which were awarded a grant of approximately 5000 USD.
