The International Women’s Conference around UNSCR 1325
In 2014, the YWCA of Palestine convened an international conference in Bethlehem under the title “Women’s Freedom, Peace, and Dignity in Palestine: UNSCR 1325 for Accountability” in coordination with World YWCA, the National Coalition for the Implementation of UNSCR 1325 and Kairos Palestine. The conference attracted women’s rights activists, religious leaders, human rights defenders and politicians from around the world who all gathered to share and discuss the realities faced by Palestinian women and the effects of the Israeli military occupation.
